MuniGraph AgBudgets & Risk Simulator
No IT or Tech Support? We implement custom data & AI tools directly on your behalf.
University crop budgets are published as static, complex PDF circulars. We built this free interactive dashboard to show you what is possible when you digitize legacy agricultural guidelines. We act as your off-site tech and AI engineering team, skipping the IT overhead to build custom tools tailored specifically to your ranch.
Grower Quick-Start
CA Field Crops
Explore Alfalfa, Wheat, Sudangrass, and Bermuda budgets with dynamic harvest scaling.
CA Vegetable Crops
Analyze Broccoli, Lettuce, Onions, and Carrots incorporating CA overtime labor rules.
Yuma County AZ Crops
Assess desert crop sheets pre-populated with Arizona water costs and custom harvesting rates.
Compare Crops
Run side-by-side comparative analysis between local crops or CA/AZ regional counterpart crops.

MuniGraph AgBudgets User Guide
Welcome to the interactive Crop Budget Dashboard. This tool transitions static PDF crop budgets published annually by the University of California Cooperative Extension (for Imperial County) and the University of Arizona (for Yuma County) into a real-time simulation platform for growers and lenders.

Interactive Assumptions & Scaling
The dashboard recalculates the crop ledger in real time. Sliding or typing any parameter adjusts all associated calculations using the following business rules:
Dynamic Harvest Scaling: Yield adjustments automatically scale harvest unit-based operation rates (e.g. bale/haul charges for hay, cut/cool/pack costs for vegetables) as specified in university budgets.
Water Rates: Scales water irrigation expenses in the operations list based on custom rates. Defaults to CA's $20/ac-ft and AZ's $45/ac-ft (accounting for repairs/maintenance).
Labor Rate & Overtime: Re-evaluates cultural/harvest labor operations. Handles Yuma's dual-tier rates ($16.50/hr general vs $16.00/hr irrigation labor) and CA's baseline requirements ($23.10/hr).
Lending & Financial Metrics
Operating Expense Ratio (OER)
Measures operational efficiency. Lower ratios indicate a wider safety margin.
OER = (Total Cost / Gross Revenue) × 100
Breakeven Yield
The yield required to cover all expenses, factoring in that variable harvest costs are not incurred if the crop is not cut.
The minimum unit price needed to cover total per-acre costs at the expected yield level.
Price = Total Cost / Expected Yield
Diesel Fuel Estimation Engine
To isolate energy price exposure, the dashboard calculates direct grower diesel requirements (gallons/acre):
Operation Mapping: Identifies direct fuel usage by matching keywords (e.g. plow, disk, subsoil, ground spray, haul, rake) against ASAE machinery benchmarks.
Exclusion Filters: Strictly ignores material costs, hand-labor operations, and administrative fees that could bias fuel metrics.
Dynamic Baling/Hauling Scaling: Scales diesel consumption related to harvesting operations dynamically as expected yield changes.
CA vs. AZ Regional Differences
The regional compare tool demonstrates the distinct economic parameters governing desert farming:
